Three lenses adapted for Arriflex PL mount: Zeiss Tessar 50mm f/2.8, MIR-35 65mm f/3.5, Schneider “Arriflex-Cine-Xenon” 100mm f/2. Special claw drive by built-in electric motor, adjustable up to 100 fps. Pilot tone generator for external synchronized sound recording. Extensive accessories: Two cassettes for 120m film, two cassettes for 300m film, hand-grip with switch. For tripod use: Extra-long telescopic magnifier. Empty soundproof housing with bellows (for possible zoom operation). Prism attachment for video mirroring of the camera image and internal control and display devices. Original accessory case. Electrical functions untested. – The Arriflex 35 BL, presented in Munich in 1972, was the first low-noise handheld camera for the 35mm film format. The possibility of producing synchronous picture-sound recordings with an “unleashed” handheld camera was immediately recognized by many directors. Stanley Kubrick’s horror film “The Shining” was made with the new 35 BL camera. The first major test for this camera type was the feature film production “Munich 1972”. – First owner of the camera offered here: The important Spanish film company “Palma Pictures”.

Die Möglichkeit, synchrone Bild-Ton-Aufnahmen mit einer “entfesselten“ Handkamera herzustellen, wurde von vielen Regisseuren sofort wahrgenommen. Stanley Kubricks Horrorfilm “The Shining“ wurde mit der neuen 35 BL-Kamera hergestellt.
