»Magicienne Musical Automaton

      With Jumeau bisque portrait head impressed "10", stamped in red "Déposé Tête Jumeau, Bte. S.G.D.G. 10" and signed with artist's marks "H4", closed smiling mouth with accentuated cupid's
      bow, wide-set fixed blue paperweight eyes, applied pierced ears, brown hair wig, bisque shoulder plate and
      hands, two-air going-barrel movement contained in figure's torso, in décolleté eau-de-nil satin costume with metallic
      decoration, burgundy bodice, silk brocade overskirt and headdress with a pair of horns, height 30 in. (76 cm) including
      headdress. – The bisque
      portrait head was one of a special series produced by Ju-meau. With her patrician features and mechanical
      complexity, the "Magicienne" represented one of the most luxurious items in the Roullet et Decamps catalogue at 180 Francs. This example was dressed by the Decamps-Bellancourt family in antique materials of the original style.
