»Rare Magic Theater Automaton by Renou«,

Depicting a lady magician with dice-form box and a booth with 3 assistants on the stage: a clown, a grinning character and a man in fez, the magician with French bisque head impressed "E 1 D" for Jumeau under Emile Douillet, closed mouth, fixed brown paperweight eyes, pierced ears, cork pate, blonde mohair wig and bisque hands holding a wand and the lid to the dice-box, dressed in aqua satin and silk crepe costume with matching bonnet, on velvet-covered base, stamped "Déposé", containing single-air going-barrel movement with Renou key and stop/start, height 17 in. (43 cm). An ingenious and amusing automaton by Louis Renou, a rare variant of the Magic Theater automaton sold by Auction Team Breker, 24 November 2012, lot 510.  – Good working order.
