With cylinder musical movement in metal housing, play- ing "Ranz des Vaches" and "Nel Cor Piu Non Mi Sento" by Giovanni Paisiello, with sectional comb with 25 groups of three teeth (complete, one group expertly replaced) and early stop/start construction, the fitted velvet-covered tray housing gold and mother-of-pearl implements (two pairs of scissors, three complete silk- winders, needle case, folding knife, bodkin and a fish- form folding earspon and toothpick), in silk and paper- lined tortoiseshell case with ribbed lid, silver escutch- eon, lion's head handles and ball-and-claw feet, wd. 8 in. (20 cm), cylinder 3 1/8 in. With indistinct serial number on movement, no. 00422 on underside, playing six popular and dance airs in- cluding "La Veuve Joyeuse" ("The Jolly Widow") by Lehar, with 32 teeth in comb (complete), tune-indicator, tune-sheet, beveled glass inner lid, attractive book- matched veneered case with Tunbridge Ware-style inlaid lid, wd. 14 1⁄2 in. (37 cm), cylinder 3 1⁄2 in. (9 cm), would benefit from dampering and tuning. A small, bright and loud musical box in a most unusual case.

No. 253, with six 6-air cylinders, 55 teeth in comb (complete), speed control, change/repeat, combined spring-barrel clamp and stop/play control, "JB" butter- fly trademark, stained beech case with inlaid motif on lid, plinth and drop-flap compartment for the cylinders, wd. 15 in. (38 cm), cylinders 6 in. (15 cm). Good re- stored playing condition.
