953: Vergoldete Silber-Tabakdose mit Musikwerk von F. Nicole, um 1820 € 1.800,-
Nr. 137 auf dem Kammsockel, 2 Melodien, 61 Töne in feinem Stahlkamm (komplett, 3 Zähne professionell ersetzt), ein separat angebrachter Baßton, Kamm ge- prägt mit "F. NICOLE", in vergoldetem Silbergehäuse mit Hersteller-Punze (klassischer Kopf im Profil), innen poliert, guillochierte Paneele, runde Ecken, graviert mit Blättern und blühenden Disteln, Gehäusemaße 8,5 x 5 cm, Walzenbreite 5,6 cm, mit Schlüssel. Der separate Baßton ist eine frühe Ausstattung, er findet sich auch in einigen Spieldosen von François Nicole. Numbered "137" on comb base, playing two airs, with fine single-piece comb of 61 teeth (complete, three teeth expertly replaced) and separate indented bass tooth, comb stamped "F. NICOLE", in silver-gilt case with maker's mark (a classical profile), polished interior, engine-turned panels and chased and engraved borders of foliage and flowering thistles, wd. 3 3/8 x dp. 2 in. (8,5 x 5 cm), cylinder 2 1⁄4 in. (5,6 cm), with key, in silk-lined leather-covered traveling case. Excellent restored play- ing condition. The indented bass tooth is an early fea- ture also seen on some cartel movements by François Nicole.
