Antoine François Jean Claudet (1797–1867) was a French photographer active in Great
Britain. He was a student of
Louis Daguerre and a friend of N. P.
Lerebours. Claudet
received many honors, among which was the
appointment,
in 1853, as "Photographer-in-ordinary" to Queen Victoria.
