Probably Hungarian, modeled as an hexagonal building with engine-turned brick decoration relieved by royal-blue enamel panels, pearls, large and smaller amethysts in mounts, the lower section with enameled windows, doors and engraved sliding drawer, tapering central section with scallop shell filigree spandrels, gallery and barley-twist cables connected to white enameled dome housing the small single-air cylinder movement that causes blue and white pearl-set sails to turn as the spring unwinds, 7 in. (18 cm) at widest point x 13 in. (33 cm) at highest. A musical objet de vertu in fine working condition!
