MITS Altair 8800, 1974
The first PC in the world. The MITS Altair was built in 1974 by Ed Roberts.
Bill Gates and Paul Allen provided a higher operating system in the form of Altair BASIC –
the foundation stone was laid for Microsoft and the rest is computer
history. Included is the original
MITS CPU board and a memory board with 16KB (kilobytes) of memory.
